This post is very late....due to some pictures that I've been patiently waiting for from my sister Liz (thanks Lizzard!). All the Eyre family was still in town to celebrate. I forget how much fun it is to be together until we actually are all together. Mom and Dad are pretty blessed to have 7 out of 9 kids living in the same state and 5 out of the 9 live within 10 minutes of eachother. You'd think we see eachother all the time, but really we don't. Not all of us anyway. The 4th of July is such a fun holiday. The older I get the more emotional I become. This year, just looking at the American flag would bring tears to my eyes. Or at the parades I'd cry looking at the police officers or firemen. We spent time at parades, carnivals, neighborhood parties, family bbq's, and sleeping out in a tent in our back yard where we watched some spectacular fireworks (they were short lived, but fun). I love the USA and feel blessed beyond words to be living in the greatest country on this earth!
We really want to take the kids camping this summer, but are nervous. So, we did a trial run in our back yard. Aaron and I got a couple hours sleep.....pretty much the worst sleep ever! The kids slept all the way through the night without as much as a peep. That's what you get when you make sure they will be warm enough so you give them all the blankets and the warm sleeping bags. We froze and were terribly uncomfortable. But atleast we know that they can handle the outdoors. Figures!
-stick out your little tongue. -say "mama" over, and over, and over again. -play games, like when you tease me that your coming to me only to run away just as you get to me. -that you suck on your finger and put your blankie to your face to fall asleep or to be comforted. -say "no", but that will not last my dear! -cuddle with me, especially since that doesn't happen as much now that you are all over the place. -say "na-night" to everyone as I put you down for your nap or bedtime. -that you squeal with delight everytime I say "it's bathtime". -have pig-tails in your hair. -know exactly what you want and I'm struggling to figure it out. But when I do, then we are both SOOOOO happy. -all the fun little words you are learning to say, like; gog(dog), nanna(hannah), pul(apple), mama(grandma..not to be mistaken for me), usie(aunt suzie), daddy, gink(drink), ilk(milk), nak(snack), teet(treat), ankee(blankie), na(ya), eese(cheese) -give us your "attitude" look. It's also your "pooping" look.
You are petite, and beautiful, and hilarious, and we LOVE you!
What a fun day yesterday was. All the family in town for Tyson's and Liesel's wedding. We began early at the temple in Salt Lake. It had to be one of the greatest days of my parents life as all 9 of their children, and their spouses were in attendance. Seriously, amazing and such a blessing.
While we were waiting for the "happy couple" to come out, the Eyre clan was true in form in all our silliness. Robin, Liz, Susan, Me, Nikki, Carlee Nikki, Carlee, Trent, Liz, Me, Travis, Susan, Robin....we were missing Tyson Being dipped with my neices bug glasses on. Drama Carlee Nikkers kissing me
It is a rare treat to be all together, so be warned, the pictures are plentiful. Pops and his Peeps Our lovely momma Me and my man! They finally arrived! We LOVE Liesel!!!! and Tyson too. :o) Isn't she a lovely bride? She made her own bouqet! Grandma & Grandpa Hansen, Tyson & Liesel, Mom & Dad We've all decided that kissing on camera is difficult and awkward! The entire Eyre family. What a beautiful family! All 9 of us....I have no idea how my parents did it. On to the luncheon at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
Dad had his knee replaced 3 weeks before the wedding. He was in a lot of pain. Nikki, Carlee, and I each took a turn speaking about Tyson. The sisters were asked to sing a song at the luncheon. We chose the sappiest love song we could find and then dedicated it to Liesel from Tyson. It was the perfect touch to lighten things up since talking about Tyson and just how great he is had all us women in tears. Blah! Noone had seen this before this performance.
Once the luncheon was over, we had to rush home, get the kids fed and changed into their dress clothes for the reception. I have to add here, that Tyson and Liesel chose the same reception spot as Aaron and I did nearly 7 years ago. We had not been back until last night. Boy has it changed! We thought is was beautiful then, but it is even more beautiful now. It was kinda fun to show the kids that this is where their mommy and daddy first started their lives together almost 7 years ago....and a little ironic to have 3 kids with us now. My sweet Hannah I think my parents are so handsome. The picture of the entire Eyre family, with grandkids included, will have to be posted when I get a copy. It is very impressive.
The rest of the time, the kids ran wild.....loving every minute of it. We got so many cute shots of Abigail.
Nathan had a ball playing with his Idaho cousins. I think he was just happy to be playing with some boys for a change. Hannah was not as easy to take pictures of. She and Grace kept finding little hiding spots all over this farm. She assured me on our way home though that this was so much fun. And it was. I'm kinda sad that it's over, but now we have the weekend to look forward to.
