Not a good start to the New Year
I have a pretty intense 3 year old son. I love him. I adore him. I ache for him. I worry about him. I cry over him...way too much! He has recently been the topic of conversation among many. My feelings have been hurt. (I know, women right?) I can't help it. The mama bear in me wants to protect him and me for that matter, from anyone who may think less than perfect of him. (totally ridiculous I know!) Then, there is this side of me that doesn't blame anyone who may think less than perfect of him because, well, he's not perfect. In fact, he's down right difficult much of the time. So, I reacted, and in that reaction I protected. But what I feel badly about is feelings have been hurt, friendships are being tested, and I feel sad. I really just want to cry. Cry for my son, cry for my friend, and just cry for myself. Parenting is hard. Nothing can show your weaknesses quite like parenting. So, I'm off to mend a friendship I hope. One that does mean a lot to me. Not more to me than my son means to me, but does still mean a lot to me.

Good luck!! Mama bear needs to proctect her children, don't feel bad!
First, I know how you feel. My little Lucas can get a bad rap & I am very protective of him even though he can be a little stinker!
Second, it's totally natural to let your Mama Bear instincts come out! But, you are a really nice person & I'm sure you are struggling with it, so go make it right-who could be upset with you anyway? You are the nicest person ever!
Oh Melissa! I forgive you!!! I'm just kidding, I have a feeling this post wasn't directed at me. But hang in there friend. When it comes to our kids, especially the ones we are already concerned about, us mamma's are fiercley protective. Hopefully your dear friend will realize that.
