A little boy with a great big spirit

Joe turned 2. He went ahead and did even though I begged him not to. I'm not surprised though, because he has a little mind of his own and pretty much gets whatever he wants! He knows we are all wrapped around his little finger. (especially his dad). He has more sass, more personality, more spunk than just about any other kid I know. We lovingly refer to him as, "the boss". Someday we'll have to curb it, but for now, he can milk it. We ADORE him.

My Thoughts on Mothers Day

There's nothing I'd rather be than a mother. Simply put, it's the most fulfilling, most challenging, most educational mission of my life!

Heaven knows I'm open about the challenges of mothering. Heaven knows I am far from the perfect mother. But Heaven also is behind me on this journey. Heaven also sent me to a loving and wonderful mother, who gave me a great example on how to mother. I find myself saying, "I hope my kids love me as much as I love my mom." To know her is to love her.

I'm thankful for all the mothers in my life and for the men in my life who honor all women.
My greatest hope is that my children will grow up knowing that their mother loved and sacrificed for them because they are worth it in every way!

Memorial Day

It's been a day. A great one! Aaron is in Idaho with Nathan since last Friday. We couldn't let them have all the fun, so we went hiking! Man alive, I love the mountains. And so do these kids!!!

So happy we did this today. So happy my sisters came too and that Nikki's husband Dave was our man to help us all. So happy for this family of mine. So happy to talk with my kids today about those we love who have passed on and what wonderful people they were and how lucky we are to call them family forever! So happy (and much more grateful than happy) for the brave men and women who have paid the ultimate price with their life so I could enjoy such a beautiful day with my beautiful family. Now, I just need my boys to come home and then I will feel complete again.

I'm pretty happy to be married to this guy.

Really, all I can say is, I lucked out! He's one in a million! I threw a little bash last minute (as usual) to have some family and close friends over for his favorite cheese cake. Holland

She is 6 months old! Time is flying by. I hate that phrase because it's so very true! I cannot believe she's 6 months. Everything about her makes me happy. Her fat thighs, round head, ridiculous long eyelashes, beautiful blue eyes, her babbling, toothless smiles, even her constant waking in the night to nurse! (ok, that's a total lie. I could definitely due without that!)
